The kingdom has been ravaged by an origami menace! Join Mario and his new partner, Olivia, as they battle evil Folded Soldiers, repair the damaged landscape, and try to free Princess Peach’s castle from the clutches of King Olly in this comedy-filled adventure, only on the Nintendo Switch™ system.

Master strategic, ring-based battles

Line up scattered enemies and plan your attack to maximize damage with the new, ring-based battle system that requires both puzzle-solving skills and a quick wit.

Mario and Luigi receive an invitation from Princess Peach to attend an origami festival and excitedly hurry to Toad Town…but something’s amiss. After investigating the eerily empty town, the duo finds a fearsome (and folded) Princess Peach—she’s been turned into origami by King Olly, ruler of the Origami Kingdom! With five giant streamers under his control, King Olly binds Princess Peach’s Castle and transports it to a distant mountain as part of his plan to re-fold the world.

On his journey to liberate Peach’s Castle and repair the ravaged paper landscape, Mario meets Olivia, King Olly’s sister, and the two join forces to put a stop to Olly’s origami onslaught. Even Bowser falls victim to Olly’s plot when his minions are turned into origami Folded Soldiers and betray their Koopa king, forcing him to ally with Mario and Olivia!

Battle the Folded Soldiers in ring-based battles that challenge you to strategically line up enemies to maximize damage! Out of battle, Mario can use the arm-extending 1,000-Fold Arms ability in specific spots to interact with the landscape to pull, peel, hit, and more! Join Mario, Olivia, and their companions on a journey of laughter and emotion, thrills, and a whole lot of folding.

first off this game isn't nearly as good as the first 3 but i'd say its pretty solid and worth buying. the first 3. my main problems are either before the pink ribbon or during it, pretty much the entire boat section was terrible and i just wanted to get it over with, and before the pink ribbon all of the boss fights were kinda garbage, but after the pink ribbon i thought all the boss fights were great, especially the final one. people have talked about the fact that there's no exp, making encounters pointless, but personally i always tried to avoid the enemies so nothing really changed for me. the writing is incredible, one of my favorite parts being the romantic play with birdo. the graphics are 10/10 if you want an example look at shroom city. i like the collectibles though there're a bit too many. i will say the new combat wheel can be pretty boring and repetitive. I'd say its worth your money

Picked this up on Black Friday sale. The gameplay is solid. It has funny dialog. The battle system is ok, it is on the easy side... But I enjoy progressing thru the story quickly. The only aspect that I don't appreciate is that it calls out obvious things with dialog disrupting gameplay flow.

I LOVE Paper Mario the origami king. The reason why was because there is a new way to battle enemy's and more. I especially like how Origami king brought back partners from the first three games.

I actually love the game, however the boss fight mechanics are not fun.

A joy filled experience with fun gameplay and awesome puzzle mechanics. A major improvement on the last two games. If you enjoy fun games, this game is for you. This game is worth your time and money even though many people may complain about how it is not an exact recreation of Thousand Yard Door.

I had a lot of fun with this game. It was my first Paper Mario game and I really enjoyed playing Mario outside of being a platformer. I think it ended up being a lot of fun even with slightly repetitive mechanics in the battle system.
