This game is great for a one run-through game which is what all pokemon games are. The great thing about this game is yes they have the DLC's but I don't like the fact that the DLC's cost a bit much so for the DLC and the game that's $90 which is kind of a lot. But never the less it truly is a great game in the line of pokemon games.

Pokemon Sword is a good game. Definitely not the best Pokemon game as it holds your hand a little too much and it takes away the joy of winning a hard battle. The gameplay is just what you would expect from a Pokemon game. The newly added wild plains are great and they offer tons of fan when catching pokemons as new pokemons will be found depending on the time, weather and region. The interact with your pokemon part for me was lacking as they took away the mechanic which allowed you to pet your pokemon. Another issue with Pokemon Sword is the unoriginal story. I mean, i know all Pokemon games share a common factor in the plots of games but this one was really predictive.

Pokemon sword and Shield are amazing games because of these: 1. DLC, The dlc in this game is great with 2 parts, the isle of armour and The crown tundra at only a $30 price 2. Replay value

Basically what you would expect from a Pokemon game. Charming music, nicely designed characters and Pokemons, story with the same structure as before and etc.. Graphics is a little meh but once you get over it it's not that bad. Story is very meh, it didn't get that exciting, not to mention the antagonists are set up exactly the same as Sun and Moon.

I think the graphics could be a bit better and the story could be deeper, but overall, this game is super fun for me as a Pokémon fan. I’ve replayed it multiple times and always have fun. I also love that they did DLC instead of a third full priced game. I think that’s the right direction and I hope GameFreak uses these as a starting off point for new Pokémon games and go further with the graphics and story from here on out. I definitely recommend this for anyone who likes Pokémon.

It's fine..I don't hate it. But it feels so dead sometimes and the animation lacks so much. I got bored pretty quickly and ended up giving it to my older sister.

I like this game but it is just like the other pokemon games, it does have expansions which make it more interesting. I just wished they would change up the story line some more as well as the battles

It's ok. Not as good as the other games in my opinion, but it's a reasonable experience.

I haven't played a Pokemon game since the Gameboy Advance days, so I had a lot of fun with this one. I liked the characters and had fun playing through the story, even if the story was really formulated. I thought I'd like Shield more, but I ended up enjoying Sword the best. It does get laggy when on multiplayer and it's not as easy to connect with friends for raids as it could be.

Story isn't gripping but there's something about a pokemon game that is enjoyable to me

Pokemon has always been good but this Pokemon game taking it to other level. The graphics have been updated. If you played other Pokemon games this a must buy.

The game presents a rather mediocre story and wastes all the technical potential of the switch. With all the money that the Pokemon brand makes, it's incredible that they are not able to invest a minimum of those benefits in increasing the quality of the games. Despite being entertaining, it's one of the worst titles in the saga due to its history, the pace of the game, its difficulty, the much-criticized graphics (with good reason) and the cut-out content.

Pokemon Sword is... ok. the game has less pokemon but that isn't the problem. the game overall feels less polished and less content. if you're not a diehard pokemon fan, you don't need to play this.

A really good version, the ultrafans of the old games may not like this game as much. It lacks a bit in the story part of the game. But overall is a good and entertaining game to play, even for people that don't like the old Pokémon games.

Im ok with pokemon getting cut however the fact that gamefreak promoted that they are going to make new animations and building the mesh from the ground up is a lie thats very shady. Also graphics and performance are bad the fact that i cant run in the wild area with out dropping to what feels like 20FPS is dumb and the quality of the graphics are abysmal. I played this game for 145 hours not having played a pokemon game before and i was disappointed however i see hope the DLC will working on improving the current issues.

I loved the game and I definitely recommend it to newcomers and Pokemon fans. However, it was surprisingly lackluster and disappointing. The story was fun but it dragged a lot and was in my opinion too short. I managed to get through to the final part of the game in perhaps 10-15 hours. The issue was that the last part of the game probably took an extra 3 and it really dragged. At least, the post-game content is AMAZING. Its not the most fleshed out system ever but definitely fun and enjoyable. I really recommend the game.

It's a Pokemon game with the same formula as always and some welcome changes like the wild area where you can free roam and catch wild Pokemon. You can also engage on multiplayer dynamax battles there. I wish it had better online functionality though. It can be completed in a short time if you grind to level up some Pokemon and take on the gyms. Performance drops quite a bit when connected on-line, so I recommend not connecting online unless you want to play some of the online modes. Overall the game looks good but not ground braking graphics, not even close. It's a 3 star graphics. Performance has some issues when online but it never feels unplayable. I think it needs some optimizing, but overall a good experience, 30fps most of the time if not on-line. Update: After defeating the Gym Leaders, the tournament feels like a fill-in and the plot is underwhelming. You never get to control the legendary Pokemon, which is disappointing. Overall it's a 4 star game in my opinion.
